- Posted by MSM on May 18th, 2006
Hi:
I am thinking of allowing certain people to access my CD drive, to view
files there. I am not sure how to go about this, my wifes cusion has done
this so we can access pictures and such. I have Windows XP Pro. Could
anybody help with this, I want this to be a password protected access.

Mark,
With XP Pro, you want to disable Simple File Sharing, and setup appropriate
non-Guest accounts, with matching non-blank passwords, on each computer. On
your computer, share the CD drive. Give permissions to the accounts that you
added, on your computer, to the CD drive share.
