Network folder size problem?
Posted by Pete A on May 19th, 2006

I have a small home network consisting of two computers;
one XP Pro & one XP Home. One day I decided to backup
my wife's picture folder by copying it to my computer. After the
copy completed, I noticed how small the folder was so I checked
the size from my computer -- it was less than 250MB. Then I went
to my wife's computer and checked the size -- it was more than
1GB. After much head-scratching, I was able to copy the entire
folder with my backup program, PC Backup. Then I checked other
folders and noticed missing files also. Some folders with only one
file would appear empty on my computer. This occurs whether I
check a mapped drive or not. Also, I have tried Windows Explorer
and xplorer2(a third party file manager); both fail to show all the
files.
Can someone tell me why this is happening?
I hope I have given enough information.

TIA,
Pete

Hii here is a workaround zip the folder in its original location (pics
located pc) and copy it to ur system.

"the reason for anyfile not getting copied cud be only if the file is in
use. chk if the workaround works if it works there is nothin wrong with ur
pcs."
