On a relative's computer, they have a weird issue:

Internet Explorer, Ping etc can not resolve the names into IP
addresses. If I enter the IP address, it works.

nslookup IS able to resolve the IP addresses via the proper DNS.

ipconfig /all DOES show the proper DNS.

Other computers connected to the same network are fine.

I have reinstalled the network driver. I have contacted Linksys
(WMP54GS - whose status utility says connected to network, but not
Internet)) who just said to put in a static DNS and that did not work.
I have scanned for spyware with Adaware, Spybot and AOL's software and
scanned for viruses. Adaware found a downloader trojan which it
removed.
The dates on Ping etc look legit and there aren't duplicate ping.com /
ping.exe.

I tried the winxpwinsock repair tool afterwards. I did the winsock
reset commands that Dell recommended. All, to no avail.

Any ideas?
