- Requires admin password to connect to network resources
- Posted by Kevinm on May 4th, 2006
workstation with win xp pro including the service pak 2, when connecting to a
win 2000 server requires server admin password to connect to the mapped drive
and other resources. The logged in user has permission to these resources and
also is a member of the admin group.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

This sounds like the account of the user that is currently logged in does not
have access to that resource despite what you have said about the permissions
being correct.
Another possibility is that that workstation is not on the domain and the
network is a domained environment.

Are you running in a domain or workgroup?
