Unable to access internet thru LAN
Posted by Ted on February 1st, 2008

I have a 2-computer LAN, each running Windows XP Home SP2. Computer A is
connected to the internet wirelessly. I can access the internet from A.
Computers A & B are connected via ethernet LAN. I can share files between the
two. However, I cannot access the internet from B thru A. I have run the
Network Setup Wizard specifying that A is connected directly to the internet
and B is connected via another computer on the LAN (the wizard does not ask
me which computer). The local area connections on both A & B are configured
with static IP addresses (192.168.0.1 & 192.168.0.2) There is no DNS address
for either. (I could not use the option to Obtain an IP Address
Automatically. The LAN connections would not work.) The wireless connection
does use the options to Obtain an IP Address Automatically and DNS Server
Automatically.

What do I need to do to allow internet access from Computer B thru the LAN
and Computer A?
Thanks.
