Unable to connect to shared printer
Posted by pnye@deloitte.com on December 6th, 2005

I have four users in the field. All connected to a hub with Windows XP
Professional. One user is physically connected to a local printer and
has set it up as a shared printer. When the other users attempt to
connect to the shared printer they get access denied. I have just
about tried everything and could really use some assistance in figuring
out why they are unable to connect. Any thoughts or ideas would be
greatly appreciated.

What authentication is the printer owner using? Simple or Classical File
Sharing? Guest or non-Guest?
