upnp in windoes xp pro
Posted by just_a_guy on November 1st, 2005

hello all.
background:
windows xp pro + sp2 (firewall off)
norton internet security on ( i had set the firewall to work with ports
1900,2869)
aztech adsl2+ dsl600e ( upnp enabled )

i have some problams with the upnp in pc.
i can only open once my network places , after i open and click F5 the
window sop responding.
also if i close the window ( before clicking F5 ) and try open my network
again , it does nothing (but whan i want to restart i get an explorer.exe
endtaks and it does not close on it self - only happens whan i click my
network places and it doesn't open)
but it only happends whan the upnp is enable.
i have just formated and reinstalled my operation system and i had just
installed norton internet security (not even all my drivers - so it can't be
malware problam)
p.s.
i can see my internet connection icon in my network connections
now for the milliion $ questions:
1. what can i do to solve this problam?
2. is there a program that i can use to chack if the upnp netowrk works even
if it doesn't open my network places
3. is there a way so all the proccess and drivers i need to work with upnp
and networking will load before i enter my user in windows ?
4. i'm sorry im asking so many thing in one place but i'm askt this in my
region suppport yesterday and no one helpt me

thanks alot for you'r help and time

Reinstall windows again and don't install Norton Internet Security (just
deleting it will not remove the thousands of system breaking files it
installs). Norton is not good.
