Wireless Network Disconnecting
Posted by Shadyaidy on October 9th, 2005

Hi,

I'm having trouble with my wireless network. Every so often (and quite
frequently) my network disconnects and cannot access the internet or router.
I heard this can be caused by P2P software but still happens when I don't run
any P2P software. The only way to get the connection back again is to reset
the router. I have looked at everyones computer for software that could
'over-load' the router but they have nothing. I have tried port-forwarding
for programs.

There are 4 computers on the network. I'm not sure if changing router will
help?

I have a Netgear WGR614v2 router,
Windows XP Pro (everyone has XP)
3Mb Broadband

Any help appreciated!

Adrian

Try upgrading your firmware on your router, go to the manuf. web site and
see if they have a new version to download.
