- Wireless Router: Security Mode
- Posted by Luise on February 21st, 2006
Just I bought Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router. Everything works
fine except the Security Mode setup.
Whenever I use the Security Mode to 128bit WEP or 64bit WEP the connection
failed. I got the error message:
"Wireless Network Connection: This connection has limited or no
connectivity. You might not be able to access the Internet or some network
resources. For more information check this message."
My machine has 802.11b/g Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network.
Please help me to fix this problem.

Check for updated firmware for the router. If it's been sitting on the
shelf for a while it may have outdated or buggy firmware.

Have you made the same security mode settings in the router and in the
computer's wireless network adapter? If not, the network adapter
can't associate with the router, which will cause the error message
that you're getting.
Use a wired network connection to configure the router's wireless
settings. If you use a wireless connection, it can disconnect as soon
as you change any settings.

Hello,
Thank you both of your reply.
My problem has been solved.
I was my fault because I used the wrong Hex Key (A-F and 1-0) so it was the
main problem to fail the connection. Now it is OK, but still now I am not
able to use the "Passphrase" key generator. The key "Passphrase" has created
does not able to use the Net.
Regards,
Luise
