WPA2 option missing in Wirless Network Policy (GPO)
Posted by on April 3rd, 2006

Hi!

We have deployed the WPA2 patch on our Windows XP clients and need to deploy
the settings with Group Policies.

(WindowsXP-KB893357-v2-x86-ENU.exe, WPA2 patch)

However, we canīt find the option to set the encryption to WPA 2 in the
gpo-settings. It seems to be missing.
Does anyone know if there is an updated GPO-inf-file for wpa2 or something?

Hi,

When the WPA2 authentication modes are missing, that usually means your
driver needs to updated. I am assuming that your laptop has an Intel
Centrino adapter. Therefore you must update your device driver to a
version that supports WPA2 authentication modes.

To obtain the latest drivers for the Intel Centrino reference the following
article on Intel.com:
http://www.intel.com/support/wireles.../cs-010623.htm

Hope it helps.

Best regards,
