XP home networking problem

Me and my dad are connected with a router in our LAN, and about the
time he reinstalled XP and changed his motherboard, my computer could
not get online when he dialed in. It seems as though one of the
computer is not letting the connection through. We are connected and
everything though. ALthough I can't see his computer in our Workgroup
or his shared documents. I can only see myself. Can anyone help me
with this?

Try and provide some detail about how the computers are connected, please.

One of the most common causes of your Workgroup visibility problem would be a
misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, but there are other possibilities
too.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
