I keep getting a message when i try to do windows update
that says "active scripting and the download and the
intialization ActiveX controls must be enabled..." How do
i do this??

Try the following:

1) Open Internet Explorer
2) Select Tools > Internet Options
3) Select Security Tab
4) Highlight "Internet" and Click "Custom Level"
5) Under "ActiveX controls and Plugins" Verify the following:

Download signed ActiveX controls = Prompt
Download unsigned ActiveX controls = Disabled
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe = Disabled
Run ActiveX controls and Plugins = Enabled
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting = Enabled

6) Under "Scripting" Verify the following:
Active Scripting = Enabled


Close all open browsers, then connect to the Windows Update site and see if
it works.
