when i try to update at windows update the message appears
administators only.i checked my accounts and it shows that
i am the administator,i can download tools and security
stuff.this message comes up as soon as microsoft scans for
availible updates

If you use XP, have you tried the suggestions in
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/ under "When trying to
use the Windows Update Web site you receive an "Administrators Only" error
message (Windows XP only)"?
