i HAVE BECOME CONFUSED i AM DISABLE AND i FORGOT WERE TO
SET MY AUTOMATIC UPDATES TO DOWNLOAD WITH OUT DOING
MANUALLY,i REMEMBER THAT MY UPDATES USED TO COME DOWN TO
THE TOOLBAR AND DOWNLOAD AUTOMATICLY,HOW I SET THIS UP
PARDON MY IGNORANCE ,ALSO IN MY LAPTOP THAT RUNS WINDOWS
XP WHEN I CLICK WINDOWS UPDATE IT TELLS ME TO SCAN AND i
DO THEN WHEN I HAVE PICK UP THE UPDATES THAT i DESIRE IT
COMES BACK TO THE VERY SMA SCREEN THAT i BEGAN WITH,AND
ASK ME TO SCAN AGAIN SO I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOIN ON
PLEASE HELP ME i HAVE A DELL LAPTOP 2650 INSPIRON AND THE
OTHER IS A DELL DIMENSION 4100.

Set the preferences for AU using Control Panel, System then go to the
Automatic Update tab.
Re the scan loop you describe, this can happen if you have Discussions
enabled. To disable the Discussion Bar in Internet Explorer:
1. On the "View" menu, point to "Explorer Bar".
2. Click "Discuss" to remove the check mark and disable this option.
