My mistake. Your instructions plainly said to do a direct
download after applying your suggestions, and I went back
through the update screen. It did not work when
downloading from Update but it works fine when doing a
direct download.

So my new question is, will I have this problem every
time I try to use Update?

If you made the repairs as suggested, you'll probably be fine
with Windows Update in the future. If not, the Microsoft
Knowledge Base usually has direct downloads available.

hey could you help me with my update. i have no clue why
it wont come up I keep getting "error" HELP!!!
