Cannot access secure websites
Posted by Ron on March 7th, 2004

Each time I try to access a secure website, like internet
banking, I get a message saying "Action cancelled"
or 'This page cannot be accessed" I was able to do so
until recently and I am told it is something to do with
the browser settings.I am able to access the non secure
sites. Can anyone help?

I think the problem is in your privacy settings. From
your browser, select "Tools" and click on "internet
Options." When the options window opens, click on
the "Privacy" tab. There's a slide in there that will
let you decide which if any cookies you will accept. I
run mine on Medium High most of the time, but I have to
drop it down to access my Comcast account. Good luck.

Do you have 128-bit encryption enabled for IE?

This can be found by clicking on the Help About.. menu
item. IE calls it "Cipher Strength".
