cannot reach update site because the activex has been turned off

I'm trying to reach the microsoft web site that has the
update on it but my computer wont let me because it says
my activex controls have been turned off? How do I turn
it back on or download some new ones if they have been
inadvertantly deleted.

You want to verify all ActiveX settings are enabled by:

1) Open Internet Explorer
2) Select Tools > Internet Options
3) Select Security Tab
4) Highlight "Internet" and Click "Custom Level"
5) Under "ActiveX controls and Plugins" Verify the following:

Download signed ActiveX controls = Prompt
Download unsigned ActiveX controls = Disabled
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe = Disabled
Run ActiveX controls and Plugins = Enabled
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting = Enabled

After making changes close and restart Internet Explorer.
