I have been trying to use windows update but cant. I
think its because my computer will not accept activeX
controls. When I try to install the blaster update I get
a KB823980 setup error saying it "could not verify the
integrity of the file Update.inf. make sure cryptographic
services are running..." I know the cryptographic
services are running but I could not find the file
update.inf on my machine. Please help!!

Joe, try to rename the C:\windows\system32\catroot2 folder to
c:\windows\system32\CR2OLD.

If you have Windows 2000, it will be C:\winnt\system32\catroot2.
