Configuring Automatic Updates to download from local server
Posted by ChrisB on July 17th, 2003

Hi all,

Trying to setup Software Updates Services here. The
server side is fine, the client side is giving me trouble.

I'm running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1A,
so I understand I don't have to install the June 2002
Client Update. Only trouble is, I can't find where
within Automatic Updates I can configure it to point to
an internal server instead of Microsoft's internet
servers.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have windows xp, it *should* do it automatically. (From what I
understand)

Hello Chris,

There is actually a newsgroup dedicated specifically to SUS. it's at
microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs. They will probably be able to answer
your questions better.
