- confusion over service pack version

hi-
i have win xp hp oem version.
when i go to help support it says service pack 1.
when i try to install service pack 2 it doesnt recognize it.
"the expected version of the product was not found on my system"
when i select updates to install from windows update i always
pick sp1 win xp. should i just continue to do this and not worry
about sp2?

SP2 is not available yet unless you are a Beta Tester.
Install all Critical Updates.
