I tried to download and install 4 critical updates needed
for Windows 98se. However, the first update failed on
install, blue screen, and needed a restart. After
returning to the critical updates section after restart,
only 2 of the original 4 were availible. When I view
update history, it shows that all 4 failed the first
time. Any ideas on how to get the two I'm missing?
Successful:
814078: Security Update (Microsoft Jscript version 5.6,
Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows NT 4.0)
811630: Critical Update (Windows 98)
Failed, and unable to try again:
816093: Security Update Microsoft Virtual Machine
(Microsoft VM)
823559: Security Update for Microsoft Windows
Thanks,
William

See: Install stops at 0% when using the AOL Browser
There is a known issue with the AOL browser not being able to install
updates from the Windows Update site. Sign on to AOL, minimize it,
either use Internet Explorer for the updates or use the shortcut on the
Start menu... always temporarily disable your antivirus program, disk
utilities (re: Norton "anything"), and any other 3rd party software that
relates to internet activities ( pop-up stopper, internet "speed"
boosters, download managers, ad blockers, etc. ).
