- Critical windows update for religious symbol?
- Posted by Paul on February 10th, 2004
It seems they needed to take the star of david symbol out of Bookshelf
Symbol 7, BSSYM7.TTF font file. I don't see how this is listed as a
_critical_ windows update. I'm not religious and don't understand the
problem here. It seems like more of this cultural softening of the
edges, as in the exterpation of all personal perjortives (idiot,
dumbass, fool, nitwit, etc.) in Word's thesaurus.

I don't get it. What are you talking about? I have seen no critical update
regarding fonts of any kind much less the Star of David. As for the
thesaurus in Word, my version has all those entries. If I want to use fool
in place of idiot, it is available. Have you run a virus scan lately?

It was on the Windows Update site today. If you have the current version
of the file you probably won't see the update.

Check out the following link. It will give a bit more information on what is
going on. It is not a MS link, but should be fairly reliable.
Here it is:

Hope this helps.
