LOL - The stuff is pure gold! They are still broadcasting
if you want to listen in. Some journalists are, surprisingly,
grilling Darl on the IP issues. They're spending more time
on the lawsuits than the shitty Q1 financials.

I'll just look forward to the GrokLaw transcript.
But do you have any short gems to post, to whet our appetite?

- Darl was grilled about Autozone, to clarify whether this was an issue
about Linux and IP copyrights or about them using SCO Unix libraries,
to which they had source, in their Linux setups. At first, he skirted, then
said outright, "The core is about our IP in Linux. If you were to take our
court filing against Autozone and search & replace Autozone's name with
the name of another Linux user, the document filed against another user
would look about the same."
- SCO says Novell claimed copyright, then withdrew, then filed a claim
again.
- SCO's financials reflect over $3 Mil in capital loss due to litigation, producing
a measly $20k of gross revenue related to IP. He also said "about a handful"
of SCOSource licenses were sold. When asked to specify, he said, "less than 50".
- One female journalist, near the end of the webcast, would not allow him to skirt
on the Linux and Autozone issues. The manner in which she grilled him was spectacular.
I don't recall the entire exchange, but it is well worth the listen if you can get your
hands on a recording, which should be available at the same link. Groklaw will surely
post a full transcript.
- Darl was asked if they would refund anyone who has bought an SCOSource license
for Linux should they lose in court. Darl skirted around the question with lots of
babble, concluding that they feel they have a strong case and that the Linux
community admitted publicly, apparently, that some SCO IP was indeed found in
Linux and subsequently removed. He also said that they are trying to help make it
easier for users to use SCO IP in Linux by providing this license as an alternative
to the cumbersome task of searching out and removing offending code.
- Darl was asked about the case against them in Australia by CyberKnights. He said
they have no knowledge of anything against them in Australia.

Darl doesn't remember SCOG releasing Linux under the GPL. He has no
knowledge of anything against SCOG in Australia.
Is sheer stupidity a long and proud tradition of the McBride family?

Hey, perjury takes practice, it's not something you're just born with.

Unfortunately, press-perjury ain't a crime. It does sound like some probing
questions were asked, and received vacuous nonanswers from the
devious Darl McBride.

I know, it's the press-perjury that people use to practice the real

"Not too good."
