- Delete Service pack 1???
- Posted by Mikah on January 29th, 2004
When ever I use Windows Update it always sais there is a
Windows XP Service Pack 1 update. While
downloading this it asks me if I want to make an archive
so I can delete the download later. I chose yes but the
the file is so large. I have updated Windows XP Service
Pack 1 about 5 times now. Are all these large archives
still on my computer and should I delete the older one
every time i download a new updated one??

Mikah,
Follow the steps listed here :
Service Pack Installation Checklist
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm
REMEMBER to temporarily disable your antivirus program and any script
blocking component of it. Also, any other 3rd party internet software
that may interfere with the download and installation process (pop up
blocker, download manager, internet "accelerator", etc.)
