e-mail hijacked, please help

Can anyone tell me how to stop anonymous persons from
using my e-mail address on my ISP.

I get e-mails back that have been returned because they
could not be sent for various reasons. I did not send
the e-mails and the "To" address is unfamiliar to me and
so is the message that was sent. Sometimes it is vulgar
and sometimes not.

When I check the properties the return e-mail address is
mine, but with different names programed in. I do not
know how to find where they originate from and I don't
know how to prevent it from happening again. It is like
someone can hi-jack my e-mail anytime they want.

Also, I am receiving tons of unwanted e-mail each day,
and don't know how to stop it.

If anyone can help me stop this madness, it would be most
appreciated. Please, please help.

Thanks,
sebrum

It happens to me all the time. The email has your return address on it but
it didn't originate on your server. The headers are forged assuming that
your email server is secure and you're email password hasn't been
compromised. As far as I know there isn't anything you can do about it. Try
using SpamCop.net to see if you can figure out where it originates but I've
found that most of it is from Far East countries and I've never had any luck
getting a reply back.
