This is the 2rd message I am posting related to the
Windows Update not installing.

Hopefully someone can let me know what we are supposed to
do to get this problem fixed. I dont find anything
regarding this error number in the microsoft website.

I have about 18 critical updates I should do ..and no can
do !

A message further down suggested placing a static entry in your HOSTS file.
I tried it and it worked. Here's the text from the post:

Our cable (COX) system has the wrong DNS for the downloads site.

I added the following to the of my hosts file.
NOT (hosts.sam)

208.172.158.234 download.windowsupdate.com


works on several systems so far.
