I keep getting this error: #0X800A138F while trying to
update. Using ME. Anyone Help please. Karl

I am running Win98SE, and get the same error message.
There is no reference to this error in MS Knowledge Base.

That is just an indicator to look for a more specific error code
in the Windows Update.log file.

Use the WU Troubleshooter:
< http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/ >

Note that sometimes the code is listed without a hex prefix
so do your finds (e.g. Ctrl-f) with just 800a138f

Note also that the information about which OS the articles apply to
is not always complete. For this code you should assume that you
can at least use any articles for finding more detailed problem descriptions
if not actual problem resolutions.

You may find it easier to copy the whole page to a Notepad window
and do your finds in there. E.g., press Ctrl-a and Ctrl-c and then
open a new Notepad window and do a paste in it.
