Can anyone provide me with what is causing this error and
how I may resolve it?

The server has the correct time and date set. It is the
only suggestion Windows Update reports to try.

I fixed mine by going to internet explorer, internet options, advanced and
going down to http and clicking on use http1.1 through proxy connections and
it worked after that

If the problem persists please post the last 20-30 lines of the Windows
Update.log file.

To view the Windows Update.log file:

Copy and paste "%windir%\windows update.log" (w/o the quotes)

into the Internet Explorer address bar and hit Enter.

Scroll down to the current date and look for the error being reported.

Post the last 20 lines of the log file
