- hung up on "checking"
- Posted by sandy on March 5th, 2004
Every time I try to load my updates, I get stuck at:
Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update
software...
Depending on your connection speed, this might take a
minute. To
ensure that you're able to view Windows Update when this
verification
is complete, select Yes in any "Security Warning" dialog
boxes that
appear." The update process freezes at this point.
I tried disabling my internet security as the
troubleshooter suggested to no avail...any ideas?

Hi Sandy,
Did you try the suggestions in the Windows Update Troubleshooter?
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot
Select:
"Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software"
Thanks,
Lucy [MSFT]
