This has nothing to do with Windows Update. Try updating your drivers from http://www.creative.com/;
since Creative is one of the leading brands of sound cards it would be commercial suicide for a game
not to support them, so it's rather unlikely unless the card is ancient (you don't specify what it
is). If this is the case you'll probably have to buy a new sound card.
