IE 6 won't install; no windows updates can be gotten!
Posted by Barb G on March 3rd, 2004

It would seem that i've got an NT 4.0 server with a dreadfully messed up
multiple sets of Internet Explorer, none of which works.

I go to "add/remove programs". I see "internet explorer 5.0" listed.
Click on it, and a dialog opens to repair/reinstall IEX 6.0, not 5.

I got as far as downloading all the files for a full 6.0 install.

the install runs just fine, til it gets to 74% completion, and it just
stops responding.

The Progress screen says it is "Installing Components", and the details
are "checking signature for Internet Explorer Exception Pack..."

If I restart and attempt a repair, it hangs.

HELP!!!!
