I dont know how many times i have rec'd this update but i
have dl'd it for almost two straight weeks and everyday
the windows update comes up and says critical update
available.

however, when i look in my installation history it shows
that it has been dl'd and installed 9 times sucessfully.

how do i make this update go away?

Uninstall 824145 in Add/Remove Programs.
Reboot
Disable all unnecessary applications including antivirus
Manually install 824145 by double-clicking the downloaded file.
Reboot.
