2 months ago I tried to install the 3 critical updates I
required at that time from Windows Update, they
downloaded but wouldn't install, WU log error 0x80070643.
Tried solutions listed on the troubleshoot page with no
luck.

Tuesday, for some unknown reason I was compelled to "scan
for updates" and found I now need 5 criticals and 1 XP.
The other non-criticals I needed downloaded and installed
without problem. The criticals failed to install again,
WU log erro 80070643.

So I went through the steps listed in "troubleshoot" for
80070643 again including shutting down Norton AV and
Zonealarm unaware of "MSBLASTER in the wild". BINGO, my
machine was immediately infected.

I was able to remove using the Symantec removal tool and
a scan using Nortons Aug 13 AV def'n release indicates no
infection.

Hope I'm "really" virus free and will remain so with
Zonealarm and Norton active but obviously need those
criticals!

As indicated before, WU error log shows 80070643 when
trying from the UPDATE page.

Trying to install from the MSBLASTER bulletin page I now
get a new error message that isn't listed in
troubleshoot. 0x80072EE2.

Any suggestions on how to get criticals to install would
be truly appreciated.
