Posted by Huib on November 3rd, 2003

Hi,
Every time i do perform an update it is always successfull
but it always shows in the history as ok but shows it also
as open.
How can i be sure that it is really installed? Where can i
check it?
And finally how can i solve it as a clean view...
PS: the latest one is KB828750

Huib

Compare the files of the cumulative patch with those on your system to
determine if it did install successfully. The patch should be listed in
Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel as
" Internet Explorer Q828750 "

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...n/MS03-040.asp
" To verify that the patch has been installed on the machine, open
Internet Explorer, select Help, then select About Internet Explorer and
confirm that Q828750 is listed in the Update Versions field. "

Hi,
Thanks for your interest but now i am getting eally
worried because the major of the patches i donīt see
neither in the add/remove nor via the help of IE6.
I tried with ZA & NaV off - same result.
I did found the *.dll files but in the folder
C:\windows\system and it were all older files...

Any further ideaīs?

Huib

I have same situation as Huib. Same results.
I also tried disabling ZoneAlarm Pro and Norton
AntiVirus during the install of KB828750.
Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel lists Windows ME
Q823559 Update, but not Internet Explorer.

I have Windows ME 4.90.3000.
I have Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106, Update
Versions:;SP1;
I found the *.dll files in C:\windows\system all with old
dates (7/23/2002 for all except for SHLWAPI.DLL, which has
8/17/2001).
I have tried to install KB828750 14 times from October 9
to today, according to Windows Update Installation History.
Don't know how to proceed.
