messenger service pop ups

New computer with Windows 2000. Config my internet
connection and logged on to update Windows 2000 and IE.
While downloading the updates I was infected with the
w32welchia\worm and the w32hllw.lovegate.g virus. I have
removed both virus from the computer. I have another
computer running Windows 2000 and dont have this problem.

Problem: While on the net, I will get the following popup:
Messenger Service:
message from system to alert
protect your computer againt these messages forever:
I am then directed to a web site selling message or popup
blockers. anyone know how to stop this. I do not have
messenger service loaded. Also I loaded a popup stoper,
didnt stop the messages from coming in...
