- Netgear MR814v2 & Windows Update
- Posted by David on February 15th, 2004
I have just spent 3 hours with a client where we had
previously installed a wireless network. I have done many
with Netgear equipment and never had a problem.
This one will NOT run Windows Update via the MR814V2
wireless router. We switched out the router and went
direct through the DSL Modem and it works. Via the router
neither Windows Update nor Quicken on-line banking works.
It sounds like its an SSL problem but I am short of ideas
why the Netgear would block SSL?
Both workstations fail, one wired, one wireless.
Both run Windows XP Pro.
Any ideas anyone?

Is port 443 enabled? I'm not familiar with Netgear, perhaps you can contact
the manufacturer?
