no update in France

Make sure to use Internet Explorer to access the Windows Update site.

Disable the options "Automatically detect settings" and "Use automatic configuration script."
To do this:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click "Tools," and then click "Internet Options."
3. Click "Connections," and then click "LAN Settings."
4. Make sure the check boxes for "Automatically detect settings" and "Use automatic configuration script" are not selected.

David Herman but always the same problem.
I have (approx translation in english) for the first line

Can you please post the Windows Update.log file from either c:\windows or
c:\winnt directory.
The log file should report an additional error to further help us
troubleshoot.
