I wonder what will happen to SuSE and to Linux in general.

SuSE will go away, GNU/Linux won't.

It could be good news. What if, since IBM donated 50mil, they decided
to make preconfig SuSE boxes for Novell and the masses?

The fact is, Netware maybe a quite good server OS, but where is it going?
Nowhere. Novell need a future, and its not Netware any more (long term
anyway), and I dont see them going down any route with MS, so what choice
do they have, but to aquire one of the major GNU/Linux distributions, for
some long term plans.

Novell has said that linux is their future - oops - that should be NetWare
on linux.
They are trying to salvage the last NetWare users out there and get them to
'upgrade'. I can't see any of their NetWare customers doing that. If they
haven't
switched by now, they never will.
I was surprised that the EU would let an American company snap up susey, and
with their current monopoly board it may not. The EU has been dropping big
hints
that anything American is to be avoided - especially in the software market
where
they can do something about it.
Course RH and Novell can be taken out for peanuts anytime soon, so who
knows.
I believe one of them - RH, Novell - will align with the EU and fragment
linux again.
If so, they will be pushed to implement desktop version(s).
Its not as if another linux version will surprise anyone, eh ?

May your signals all trap
May your references be bounded
All memory aligned
Floats to ints rounded
Remember ...
Non-zero is true
++ adds one
Arrays start with zero
and, NULL is for none
For octal, use zero
0x means hex
= will set
== means test
use -> for a pointer
a dot if its not
? : is confusing
use them a lot
a.out is your program
there's no U in foobar
and, char (*(*x())[])() is
a function returning a pointer
to an array of pointers to
functions returning char

Yeah, it's cute, but I am betting that at least one person in here will
killfile him for it.
