It is a week now that I keep installing what Scan for
Updates reports... windows updates: WINDOWS XP (1) Rights
Management Client 1.0...?
when I look at the history of updates... i find that the
same above update has been installed several times? never
had this problem in the past! any suggestions?

Thanks for posting. We're currently investigating this problem.
Try the following:

1. From the Add/Remove applet uninstall the update (if listed)
2. Download the Windows Rights Management Client from:
3. Go back to Windows Update. Is the update still offered?
