- Screen size won't change

After an update download, my screen open in the safe
mode. I cannot get it back to 800 x 600. Yes, I changed
the properties and rebooted(over a dozen times). I cannot
run several of my programs and cannot view my update
history to reverse the problem because of the screen size.
