I'm trying to set up a direct cable connection with my
laptop running Windows 98 and desktop running Windows ME.
I set up each of the computers using Direct Cable
Connection Wizards. Desktop accepts password and I get
the message on both computers: "Connecting via serial
cable on COM1" but then I get the message on
laptop "Canot connect to the host computer." Also I am not
sure what to put in slot on laptop: "Host Computer name"
I have been putting in the name I used for homenet working
"Compaq Desktop"
