Windows Update stops with the message "Software Update
Incomplete." I've done everything in Microsoft Knowledge
Base Article - 319585, several times. I then uninstalled
Norton. Uninstalled Ad Blocker. Lowered all my security
settings to Low. Reinstalled WIN98SE. No change. I
deleted the Internet Connection folder and Internet
Connection Wizard. Did Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
319585 again and again. Same problem. It may be a
Microsoft Certificate problem, but that's beyond my
expertise and just a guess. BTW, this is an old friend's
computer - Pentium Celeron with 63MB. Any helpful ideas?

Hi Darren.

Can you please check the Windows Update.log file for errors.
The file is located in the c:\windows directory.
Scroll down to the current date and look for the error being reported.
Post the error message. Also check the Windows Update Troubleshooter:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
