- SUS clients

Is there any information on how to setup sus clients? I
have the server setup and configured but can't find out
how to setup my clients.

Hi Melissa,
which OS is installed on the clients? If you're using Win2000 (with sp1 or
sp2) or WinXP without sp, then you'll need the SUS Client:

Hi
See the chapter "Configuring the Automatic Updates client software" chapter
in the "Software Update Services Deployment White Paper"
(SUS_Deployguide_sp1.doc).
Download link found under "More Information" at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...s/default.mspx
Also, be sure to use the updated administrative template file if applicable (if
you want to configure the policies locally with gpedit.msc or you want to use
GPO from a Windows 2000 Server)

Fyi, there is a separate newsgroup for SUS:
microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...wareupdatesvcs
URL to the group softwareupdatesvcs for those who uses the Web
interface to access the newsgroups:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...reupdatesvc s
A Web site about SUS with a FAQ and a SUS forum:
