- SUS and Group Policy
- Posted by Steven on February 13th, 2004
I have added a template to all my OU's in the Domain.
But since i added the template to my Computer
Configuration, do i have to go back and manually add all
the workstations in that group to the template, in order
for it to be enforce?

Steven, when you added the wuadmn template to
your "Windows Update" group policy object from one of your
Active Directory servers you must add Authenticated Users
with Read and Apply Group Policy access. You do this by
opening your Active Directory Users and Computers
application, right-clicking on your OU and then left-
clicking on Properties, click on the Group Policy tab and
then highlight the "Windows Update" group policy that you
created and then click on the Properties button. Once that
Properties window appears click on the Security tab and
add Authenticated Users with Read and Apply Group Policy
rights.
Good Luck.

John,
Thank you for the prompt response.
Is Authenicated User vs. Global Groups the same?
I deleted the Authenticated User, because i was unsure if
it was from the OU or Domain, but in place, i added Global
Groups instead.
If i added the Authenticated User back in the OU, does it
mean only people in that OU are affected?
