- Posted by lin on November 17th, 2003
McAfee displays this message everytime I get on my
computer c:\progra~1\intern~1\Explore.Exe and halts me I
have 4 options
1) stop this script (2)allow engire script
this time(3)find out more info (4) continue what I was
doing. The only option I can continue with is (2) allow
entire script this time. Then an error page sometimes
occurs next with URL about:Blank. I can't seem to get rid
of this halt which may occur up to three times when I go
online.

Yup, that's suspicious all right... When was the last time
you ran a full virus scan on your computer? Make sure you
get updated virus definitions, too.

Thanks for help. I have run virus scan & get no errors.
Actually that last post was the error message I get after
I am on online. The following is the message I get before
going online when I first start up:
A suspicious script has been detected
the file: C:\Program Files\ISP40\bin\bartshel.exe
contains suspicious scripting activity and has been
stopped.
I want (to one of following 4 options): stop this script
allow entire script this time
find out more information
continue what I was doing
When I click on find more information, I find information
script details
file: bartshel.exe
activity: the script is attempting to call the RegRead
method within the IWSHSHELL3 object
File Path: C:\Program Files\ISP40\bin\bartshel...
Status: the script execution has been stopped
Any idea what to do about this? Thanks, Lin
