- temp. disabling Norton to install update; auto notification to update
- Posted by peggy on July 31st, 2003
Instructions say to temporarily disable anti-virus
software while installing the critical Windows update.
Can I do this without downloading the program off my
computer? If so, how? I'm running Windows XP Home.
And, on another question, why didn't I get notification
from Windows while online that I needed to get an update?
I am set up for automatic updates, but found out about
this critical update from a Yahoo article...

Go to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and see if there are any updates
to install. If you come across any, then try and install the critical ones
and if you come across any errors then we will talk you thorough disabling
your anti-virus.
