- "thanks for your interest"

I have a test bed pc that I received the "thanks for your
interest" message on tonight. The machine is running a
very clean install of XP professional. The machine had
service pack 1 installed a month ago. Tonight I went to
the windows update site and it show two critical updates
available. One was the cumulative patch for IE 6 sp1 and
I didn't get the number on the other but I think it was a
numbered security update. Immediately after installing
these I did the required reboot. Now I get the "thanks
for your interest" message when trying to access windows
update. I think Microsoft created this problem post worm
actions. Anyone know a fix? I think I will call MS and
see what they say.
