- Unable to accept license agreement
- Posted by Roger Hansford on August 30th, 2003
I select updates for installation and click on 'Install
Now' and then get the license agreement box to which I'm
supposed to reply either 'accept' or 'not accept'.
However, the question 'Do you accept the terms of the
pending license agreement?' is right at the bottom of the
window and the 'accept' or 'do not accept' buttons are
off the window. As the window is not sizeable and the
question is not in a scrollable area on the window, I
can't actually get to the buttons to be able to accept
the licence agreement and can't therefore perform the
Windows Update.
Anyone any ideas how I manipulate the license agreement
window so that I can display these buttons and accept the
license agreement?

I am having a similar problem in updating XP however with
a slight difference. Everything works fine until the
License Agreement in which I get a reply stating:
"Cannot Display the License Agreement"
which then causes only the "Don't Accept" button to be
highlighted. I have updated in the past and never had
this problem. Any suggestions out there?

hey husker its probably a pop up stopper installed on your computer or try
downloading script
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
if this does not work try
1. Click Start and choose Control Panel.
2. Choose Network and Internet Connections and then choose Internet Options
(or go straight to Internet Options in classic view).
3. Click the Connections tab.
4. Click the LAN Settings button.
5. In the Automatic configuration frame uncheck both "Automatically detect
settings" and “Use automatic configuration script”
6. Click OK and then OK again to close the window.
