- unable to fax documents
- Posted by Maureen on February 18th, 2004
I am unable to fax documents from my computer. I
purchased a Dell System (dimension 4100) 2years ago. OS
was Windows ME. Upgraded to Windows XP and was unable to
access or use inline fax. Installed updated drivers for
fax. Can access fax program but unable to send or receive
faxes. Fax is on com port 3. Message keeps telling me fax
program is working but port is busy, in use or not
connected. After troubleshooting, I believe the port is
not connected. Is there a way to switch to port 1 when I
want to fax? How do I connect port 3? What am I missing?
any advise? Thanks
