I am trying to personalize the Windows Update page by checking the " Display
the link to the Windows Update Catalog under See Also" and then clicking on
the Save Settings button. However, my settings do not appear to get saved
and no link for the Windows Update Catalog is displayed. What could be the
problem ?

Your cookie function is turned off either by a setting in Internet
Options or some 2nd party app is controlling your cookies for you.
If you clear your cookies at either ie shutdown or computer start
up you will also have to reset your prefernces each time you vist
WU. Go to the Catalog site via direct link? And you don't need
to let WU scan your computer, just use the left pane link and go
to the Catalog section.
